Our Physiotherapists are experts in the field of exercise therapy.
We deliver high quality individualised benchmark assessments, therapy and rehabilitation to help get you the best results
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal (muscles, ligaments and bones) system of our body in the event of pain, stiffness and/or loss of function.
Our expert Physiotherapists are trained to help diagnose and treat many common acute and chronic pain conditions and require a four-year University qualification and many also continue on to Postgraduate studies in their specific area of interest.
We work closely with you to tailor your treatment plan and offer alternative rehabilitation techniques for the best results.
Sports Injury Management
An acute sporting injury can often be quite frustrating, and may result in missed training and game time. However with timely and appropriate physiotherapy management, you will be able to return to sport sooner and decrease the likelihood of injuring the area again.
All our physiotherapists are skilled in diagnosing the cause of sporting injuries, and can advise you on the most appropriate exercises for your particular injuries and when best to return to sport.
Clinical Pilates
Midland Physiotherapy is proud to offer expert tuition in The Pilates Method, the total physical conditioning program for both your body and your mind.
Pilates improves aspects such as strength, flexibility, coordination and posture with a strong focus on training your postural and stability muscles, making it ideal for those recovering from injuries and perfect for those looking for fitness and muscle toning.
Through Pilates you will learn to gain control of your body so that you understand ‘how’ to move
Remedial Massage
One of the oldest forms of healing, it is effective in managing body pains, soft tissue injuries; stress and anxiety; and relief from migraines and headaches.
All of our certified massage therapists at Midland Physio have undergone additional tertiary training in massage therapy and as a result you may be eligible for Private Health Rebates.
Gym Rehabilitation & Memberships
Exercise rehabilitation is an important part of the treatment for many conditions. This includes the spectrum of people from an athlete with a shoulder impingement problem, to a new mum with lower back pain.
Exercise rehabilitation is also used effectively in helping injured workers return to the workforce, people suffering from arthritis and people recovering from orthopedic and even general surgery.
All of our physiotherapists are skilled in accurate diagnosis and appropriate prescription of therapeutic exercise.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is the use of very thin pins, which are pushed through the skin in order to stimulate trigger points in muscles. Dry needling can be effective in releasing pain when dealing with painful muscle spasms, muscle tightness and soft tissue restriction.
Most of our Physiotherapists have had advanced training in Dry Needling. Dry Needling is used alongside Physiotherapy treatment and can be useful in both acute and chronic conditions.
Women & Men’s Health
Women’s health is a specialised area of physiotherapy that focuses on issues including
• Pelvic floor dysfunction
• Stress and urge incontinence
• Vaginal and perineal pain
• Mastitis
We can offer Real Time Ultrasound Imaging which can non-invasively assess the pelvic floor muscles and allow you to actually see your muscles in action.
The correct performance of these exercises is so important and actually seeing it will allow your physiotherapist to modify the way you are doing your exercises as required.
Real-Time Ultrasound Imaging
Real-Time Ultrasound Imaging is a non-invasive imaging method that allows us to visualise the internal structures of your body in real-time, providing valuable insights for diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring progress.
With Real-Time Ultrasound Imaging, our highly trained physiotherapists can assess the activation and coordination of your muscles during movement. This dynamic visual feedback enables us to identify muscle imbalances, weaknesses, and compensatory patterns that may contribute to pain or dysfunction.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is exercise in water.
The pool used by our Physiotherapists and patients is heated to allow improved circulation and flexibility of soft tissues as the patient exercises.
The buoyancy of the water helps to reduce the load on damaged or healing joints and tissues, allowing your body to recover easily.
Hydrotherapy is very beneficial for post-surgery rehabilitation and osteoarthritic conditions where sometimes land-based exercise programmes are too painful or limited
Dietetics
Dietitians can offer expert advice on nutrition and diet. Our fully qualified dietitians can help with:
• Weight management
• Diabetes
• Meal preparation/planning
• Food allergies
• Cholesterol
